Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Kendo “Tremendo” Castañeda, a professional boxer from San Antonio, Texas. Kendo comes from a deep amateur pedigree, as well a family of boxing brothers; Felipe “El Silencioso”, and Jairo “El Increíble”. While having siblings that brawl must be a plus, don’t let that fool you; Castañeda is undefeated for a reason.
After almost a year, the Tremendous Goon is itching to get back in the ring, and is set to do so on September 23, 2017 at the Alamodome. At the moment, the 140lb threat does not have an opponent, but he optimistically says its “time to fight these good names”. When asked who he’d like to fight, he confidently replied with “… anybody in San Antonio who thinks they’re better than me”.
Kendo Castañeda is being mentored by San Antonio Legend Jesse James Leija, along with Joseph Rodriguez, who also coaches his son, Joseph “Mongoose” Rodriguez. Not having a manager hasn’t stopped him from his dream, and he sees himself going far in the world of boxing.
