Joana Migdalia Martinez was born in Elizabeth New Jersey in December of 1991. From early on, she was stubborn, and far from your average girl. She graduated from LTC Karen J. Wagner High School in 2010, and pursued her Bachelor’s degree. Joana went to St. Mary’s University from 2010-2015, and graduated with a B.A. in International Relations, and a minor in Military Science and Psychology.
While in College, Joana struggled with weight issues, and that is when she found Boxing. Starting off at 175lbs, within 3 months she dropped down to 135lbs with the help of 2x World Boxing Champion and San Antonio Legend Jesse James Leija, who encouraged her to start sparring, and eventually compete at the amateur level.
Joana’s dream is to one day be a Professional Boxer, and continue to serve her country in the US Army Engineering Corps.
